Nathan is a Virginia boy who simply can't think of a better place to live. After nearly fifteen years away, he is grateful that God has allowed him to return to SW Virginia in order to pastor Brookhill. Having grown up in Floyd County, Nathan attended college and seminary in South Carolina and worked for several years in the hospitality industry until God called him overseas to be an interim pastor in New Zealand. Since returning to the States, he has served in both official and lay capacities in churches in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
As a pastor, Nathan is passionate about marrying the beauty of the Gospel to everyday living. He believes that he best serves those under his care by carefully and clearly presenting Christ through preaching and by ministering the love of Christ through prayer and pastoral care. Most of all, he loves to watch as God brings folks closer to Himself and to each other.
Nathan is married to his lovely wife, Hannah, and together they are blessed to be the parents of three lively children.
Mark Jervis/Worship Director
Mark has been leading worship at Brookhill since 2011, but his family has been part of our church since his wife Lisa first attended as a six-week old infant. Originally from the Richmond area, Mark studied Criminal Justice at Virginia Commonwealth University. While there, the Lord brought him and Lisa together, and after graduating, they were married in 1983. Eventually they returned to the Roanoke area where they have reared their own two children, Emily and Daniel.
Not only are the Jervises an integral part of Brookhill, but they are also actively engaged in serving the broader community. Mark is retired from the Roanoke County Police Department; where he served 25 years, and Lisa has worked for the Roanoke County School District as an elementary art teacher. Their daughter Emily currently works for Camp Eagle, and Daniel is a student at Radford University.
Kim Yonce/Ministry Coordinator
Kim has attended Brookhill since she was a child. Over the years, she has been a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School director, the Nursery coordinator, a member of the choir, and has served in other roles. Effective in 2017, she is officially on staff as our Ministry Coordinator. She also leads the Brookhill Student Ministry and directs
the choir. Her spiritual gifts are in Helps, Administration, and Encouragement, and she seeks to live those out daily in the service of Jesus Christ.
Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Geneva College, a Christian liberal arts college near Pittsburgh, in 1995. She married Mark in 2001, and they have two children, Cross (13) and Virginia (10), who attend Roanoke County Schools and are active at Brookhill.
